Shilpa's Visit to MN

I will be sharing photos from the days before my website/blog. Playing catch up, I guess.

My cousin, Shilpa, came to visit from Texas in October '08. With fall at its peak, she experienced her first colorful fall with me for a week. Some of the places we visited were Minnehaha Falls, Highland Tower, Harriet Island, and Summit Avenue.

My first fall caught me by surprise. I've been waiting for October 2009:)

Hudson Hot Air Affair

The weekend after the ‘Fire on Ice’ Iceboat Racing, we went out to Hudson, WI for the Hot Air Affair.

We got there at 6:30am to watch 40 hot air balloons launch, but the winds had other plans. With the morning cancellation, we returned at 3:30pm for the second launch, and still no luck.

To make up for it, the pilots lit torches and one brave guy actually inflated his balloon for the audience. Strong winds made it dangerous, and there was a high risk of the balloon catching on fire.

The show was a success, and amazing!

This festival is great for children. Pilots let the children take turns to light the torch.

Wrapping up.

Iceboat Racing

A couple of weekends ago, my husband and I went out to Lake Phalen to watch “Fire On Ice” iceboat racing competition.

I was nervous about walking on a frozen lake for the first time, but watching the guys race was awesome! The wind wasn't even that great.

Ice skating + Sailboating = Iceboat-ish

Iceboats are not manufactured by companies, instead they are built by the enthusiast.

This is a great event for kids. :)

This guy caught some wind while he was making a left turn and it was awesome! He landed back on all 3 after making the full turn on 2.

Want A Print

With awesome weather and 10,000 lakes, I spent weekends sitting by the lakes during the fall. The 'Water-color' print seem to be a hit, so I decided to add the rest of the photos (25 more!)

These prints will add a splash of color to any office, studio, cafe, home, or even a baby's new nursery or child's room! Color can be customized to match your interior decor.

Here are some samples. Please contact me for further information.

My Brothers

It's been a wonderful week sharing my website with friends/family. The feedback has been great and very encouraging. Thanks for all the comments and emails!
You can read more about each gallery by clicking on the icon on my website.

My canvas is anywhere my photo will be displayed (wall, album cover, photo frames, etc). Anywhere, but a photo album or computer file. Here is a project that I did with my brothers in Surfside, TX (2007). They had a version similar to this one hanging on their wall in college. I developed the film and 8x10 prints in the darkroom . Yesterday I decided to scan my contact sheets and spent the day putting this together.

Enjoy!
